As
no man nor single entity at that, is an island, it is so that the Recycled
Minds Foundation collaborates with other youth-oriented humanitarian groups to
foster meaningful values and thus, better the lives of young people.
Among
such pilot collaborations are ‘The Avatars’ and ‘Odenigbo’ challenges.
The Avatars:
(Visible manifestations of the
literati)
Working
hand in glove with the Turf of Public Speakers (TOPS) Academy®, The Avatars is a public Speaking/ ‘Poetree’
challenge that encourages young people to speak up and speak out just as it
enhances and rewards creativity.
The
Avatars is an itinerant competition
that tours Africa thereby, affording participants the opportunity to see the
continent first hand.
The
theme for the year 2016 is ‘Africa, my
Africa!’
‘Odenigbo’:
In
collaboration with the Fontaine Palmiers Deborah, Odenigbo seeks to revive,
perpetuate and preserve one of the African languages only spoken in the Eastern
part of Nigeria whose people are so business-oriented that their emigration and
integration to other parts of the globe is becoming a threat to the survival of
the Igbo language and culture.
Odenigbo
therefore, becomes an effort at promoting a revival of the language and culture
of a people in the diaspora especially among the youths through the vessel of
rewarded speaking, reading and writing, national and international challenges.
The
theme for the year 2016/17 challenge is ‘Uto
asusu na omenala Igbo na mba ofesi’.
